What kind of information does POLÁ POLÁ collect?

How POLÁ POLÁ uses my information?

We will use your personal information, provided during the billing process, occasionally in response to questions, comments or complaints as part of the customer service process, when you insert your email address as part of our marketing process, and through the use of a video surveillance system, for the following purposes:

How does POLÁ POLÁ share my information?

POLÁ POLÁ does not sell or rent your personal information, we share customer information only as described below with POLÁ POLÁ . and with affiliates under POLÁ POLÁ . control, which are either subject to this Privacy Notice or follow practices at least as protective as those described in this Privacy Notice. By consenting to this Privacy Notice, you agree to share your information in accordance with this Privacy Notice.

  • Marks. When you provide personal information to POLÁ POLÁ , POLÁ POLÁ may transfer that information to POLÁ POLÁ . (and to its affiliated brands, i.e., with POLÁ POLÁ both in Mexico and abroad, for the same purposes outlined in this Privacy Notice, see the section entitled How POLÁ POLÁ uses my information?
  • By You. You may disclose personal information when you upload content to our websites, in-store technologies or other public forums, such as our brands’ social media pages, blogs and online product reviews. Any information you disclose through these services will be made public.
  • Social Sharing. Your personal information may be disclosed in connection with your social sharing activity, for example, if you access your customer account through your social networking account. By connecting your customer account and your social networking account you authorize us to share information with your social networking provider and you understand that the use of the information we share will be governed by the social network’s privacy policies.
  • Service Providers. We may share your information with our service providers who handle information about our customers and perform services on our behalf, such as fulfilling promotions, sending communications, conducting surveys, etc. These service providers are not authorized to make any other use or disclosure of your information.

Scrip programs allow you to direct us to divert a percentage of the amount you spend on POLÁ POLÁ purchases to participating schools and other non-profit organizations. Loyalty programs allow you to accumulate “points” on purchases at POLÁ POLÁ brands, which can be used to purchase certain rewards offered by the loyalty programs in which you participate. The information you authorize us to disclose to Scrip Programs or third party loyalty programs may include your credit card number and the date and amount of your purchase, as well as your name and other information you have asked us to share. Please note that once we share your information, the Scrip Program or loyalty program company may use and share it in accordance with their own privacy policies. We ask that you carefully review those policies as we have no control over them.
  • Transfer of Business. In the unlikely event of a sale or merger of POLÁ POLÁ or any of our businesses, our customers’ personal information and other information we have collected as described in this privacy notice may be one of the transferred assets.

What other information does POLÁ POLÁ collect?

We may collect information that does not reveal your identity or does not directly relate to an individual, such as browser and device information; information collected through cookies, pixel tags and other technologies; demographic and other information you provide to us; and aggregate information.

What happens if I connect to Wi-Fi services in POLÁ POLÁ stores?

If you choose to connect to our in-store Wi-Fi services, POLÁ POLÁ will receive information about you and your device, including the device’s MAC address, IP address, signal strength indicator (RSSI) and technical details of the device, such as its operating system and device type (including make and model) and technical capabilities. If you have given a name to your device we may also learn about it. We will also receive information about how you use our Wi-Fi network while connected, including the location of the store, the areas of the store you visit, the names and/or Internet addresses of the websites you visit, the applications you use, and the time you interact with those sites or applications. We will collect this information each time you connect to our Wi-Fi services and it may be associated with other information we have collected from and about you.

If your mobile device is configured to scan for available Wi-Fi networks, we may receive information about your device even if you choose not to connect to our Wi-Fi services.

For your convenience, we may offer you an option to stay connected to POLÁ POLÁ Wi-Fi networks. If you choose this option, you will automatically connect to the Wi-Fi network of any POLÁ POLÁ store that offers Wi-Fi services, and we may collect the information described above even if you do not use the Internet browser or your mobile applications during the time you are in our store. You may choose to disconnect from the POLÁ POLÁ Wi-Fi network at any time through your device’s Wi-Fi settings. However, please note that disconnecting from a store’s Wi-Fi network will only disconnect you from the local network during your visit. You may opt out of the automatic connection feature at any time by visiting http://www.smart-places.org.

What if I use different devices to visit POLÁ POLÁ websites or mobile applications?

In order to provide you with a more efficient and convenient shopping experience, you may access various content or your account from different devices. If you use different devices to access our sites or our mobile applications, such as your personal computer, laptop and/or mobile device, we may link each of your devices to your account. For example, our websites may allow you to access your favorite items or shopping cart through an email link that is unique to your account. Why did I receive a marketing e-mail after making a purchase at a POLÁ POLÁ store?

To provide you with a better shopping experience, we keep a record of all your transactions with POLÁ POLÁ , whether online or in stores. For example, if you use a credit or debit card or if you choose to provide the sales associate with your e-mail address when you make a purchase in our store, we may associate that information with your customer account. As described above, we may use information about your purchases to send you e-mails about other products and services that we think may be of interest to you.

How do I access, rectify, cancel and/or oppose my personal data?

You have the right to Access, Rectification, Cancellation and Opposition (ARCO) of your personal data, to limit the use or disclosure of the same and/or to revoke the consent that you have given us for this purpose. It is worth mentioning that the exercise of ARCO rights is free of charge and you will only have to cover the cost of reproduction in copies and other formats. If you contact us as described in the section entitled “How can I contact you?” below to submit your request in the terms set forth in Art. 29 of the Law, POLÁ POLÁ has a maximum period of 20 business days to respond, and 15 more business days to enforce the exercise of the right requested, in the event that it is appropriate. In the event that any of the rights are exercised again in a period of less than twelve months, the cost shall not exceed the equivalent of three days of the minimum wage in force in the Federal District. If substantial modifications are made to the Privacy Notice and situations arise that merit the exercise of the same right again in less than twelve months, there will be no cost.

How can I decide about receiving promotional communications?

POLÁ POLÁ wishes to communicate with you only if you want to hear from us. If you prefer not to receive promotional or advertising information, such as information about special offers and discount events, you can let us know by contacting customer service as described in the section entitled “How can I contact you?

If you contact customer service, please be sure to include your full name and the e-mail address you used when you registered or made a purchase with POLÁ POLÁ . If you ask us to remove your name and address from our promotional lists, we will keep your name in a “do not contact” file to ensure that we can fulfill your request. It may take more than 10 days to process your request if it was made by e-mail and 6-8 weeks if your request was made by mail, during which time you may continue to receive communications from POLÁ POLÁ .

What if I choose to participate in a local store’s program(s)?

We may offer special opportunities for our customers at certain stores or locations to receive personalized shopping or other services, such as notifications when their favorite products will be in the store, product recommendations, unique offers for certain community members, such as teachers or fitness instructors, and invitations to special events.

In order to provide these personalized services, a sales associate may ask you for information about your interests, activities, shopping preferences and those of others for whom you are shopping. I received a suspicious email from POLÁ POLÁ regarding a purchase I did not make, what should I do?

We are aware of fake emails being sent under the names of our brands. These e-mails do not originate from POLÁ POLÁ . For your protection, do not click on links or open attachments to suspicious or unsolicited e-mails. If you believe your personal computer has been compromised as a result of the hoax or hoax, please consult an IT professional. I responded to a job advertisement for a POLÁ POLÁ job that asks me to provide personal financial data online. Is this part of the hiring process?
